Understanding Social Anxiety
Social anxiety is marked by an intense fear of being judged, criticized, or embarrassed in social settings. Physical symptoms often include blushing, sweating, trembling, or a racing heart, while the emotional toll creates isolation and avoidance behaviors.
Even though many people recognize their fears as irrational, they may feel powerless to change them. Over time, untreated social anxiety can lead to depression, substance misuse, or missed opportunities in work, school, and relationships.
